I will continue to add FAQs. I just wanted to get this page started.
No. This is not something we do before puppies go home. Ears are left natural. Tails are docked and dew claws are removed by 3-4 days old.
No. If any breeder tells you a puppy can be completely house trained at 8 weeks old...run! At 8 weeks old they've learned there's a place to use the bathroom and it's not in their kennel or where they play. I have litter trays setup in their area beginning at 4 weeks old to help implement this. You'll still need to put the time in to train them. The good news is-you get a free 1 month subscription to Poop School to help with this!
Maybe. I typically don't have families choose their puppy until 3-4 weeks old. It would depend on where you're at on the list.
Only with full breeding rights. They're not provided to pet families because, well, they aren't needed. I used to purchase limited registration papers and found only 1% of my families were registering their puppy. It's an additional $50-80 ish that I believe can be spent on something more useful, like Baxter & Bella dog training!
