Pricing & Deposits

The average price ranges from

$1,800-$2,200

Prices are based on:

coat, eye color, and gender

*Returning families receive a $200 discount*

Expected adult weight cannot be guaranteed and is predicted to the best of my ability.

DEPOSITS

People on the deposit list can choose their puppy in order of their deposit.

*A puppy (or your placement on the deposit list) isn't reserved and secure until a deposit has been placed.

The breeder will always have first choice for any puppies, as long as they're not spoken for. This way we can continue producing great puppies for people to enjoy. (I do not regularly keep a puppy from a litter.)

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Venmo, Cash App, and Good Dog are accepted.

*Deposits are $300 and non-refundable but can be transferred to a different puppy or litter.

How Breeders Determine Their Prices

Have you ever wondered WHY purebred AND well-bred dogs are more expensive?

This will help you get a good idea on the expenses and give you more information about my breeding program.

If you're looking into getting a really cheap puppy from a "breeder," that should raise lots of red flags. Good breeders spend time and money to provide new puppy owners with great puppies to enjoy for many years to come. If you'd like more information on how to choose a good breeder, check out Good Dog. It's a fantastic website for breeders and prospective puppy owners and offers lots of great information.

This is not a complete list and can vary greatly with each breeder.

  1. Taxes - Uncle Sam sure requires a lot of taxes.
  2. Vet care (year-round) I don't skimp on vet care because our pets rely on us to help keep them healthy. They require vaccines, dental cleanings, heart worm prevention and flea & tick prevention regularly. Moms have lab work, ultrasounds and x-rays during pregnancy. There are also other visits throughout the year. My vet knows me very well!
  3. Dog/puppy food This is needed year-round for all our breeding dogs. We buy premium dog food to keep them healthier. You can pay a little more for quality dog food now, or pay for it later due to health problems caused by a poor quality diet.
  4. The purchase of our sires and dams Our sires and dams are often bought when they're a puppy and we may travel 10+ hours away or hire a flight nanny to bring them to us. Full breeding rights are typically hundreds of dollars extra.
  5. Dog supplies - kennels, bedding, play pens, potty training tools, toys, leashes, whelping (birthing) supplies, and collars just to name a few.
  6. AKC registration- I pay for each dog in my breeding program to have full AKC registration and a  pedigree. Each litter and each puppy is registered too.
  7. DNA & OFA testing - I have each breeding dog DNA tested to be sure they're healthy to breed. Eye exams and heart exams are done by vet specialists too.
  8. Vitamins- Just like humans, dogs need daily vitamins and prenatal vitamins! During the whelping (birthing) process there are also additional supplements, tools, and many other supplies needed.
  9. Education - I'm continuously learning new things and how to better my puppies, curriculum, and breeding program overall. I mostly purchase books and online video courses. There are always new things to learn!
  10. Puppy deworming & vaccines - Each puppy gets treated for worms and a 5-way vaccine before going home. The vet examines each puppy as well.
  11. Dew claw removal & tail docking - This is done by the vet for each puppy.
  12. Grooming - I groom each of my adult dogs about every 6-8 weeks and touch ups in between. Each puppy gets groomed before going home as well. I pay for quality clippers, a grooming table, blades, scissors and several other supplies too.
  13. Stud fee -  Sometimes a stud is used for many different reasons. A stud fee is paid and transportation for their dog is arranged. Sometimes it's hours away or even out of state.
  14. AI, Progesterone testing- A.I. (artificial insemination) is done by breeders for different reasons. Progesterone testing is done to make sure the female is bred at the correct time. It can be done multiple times each time she's in heat. (Not all breeders do these.)
  15. Puppy packs - the new puppy owner gets to take home an assortment of goodies when they pick up their puppy.
  16. Time Socializing- I spend time with each puppy daily to ensure they're getting proper socialization. This includes handling them daily in different ways, providing many toys and structures to climb on, working on recovering from fear quickly, playing mentally engaging games with them, and slowly integrating them into a family setting with noises, people, and other dogs. It's very important to me that each puppy is socialized and can adjust well to their new homes.
  17. Time & all the extra things -  poop scooping almost daily, puppy and dog proofing your house, washing bedding and laundry, cleaning the puppy playpen, help during the entire birthing process, being up throughout the night caring for new puppies, and tending to sick puppies, just to name a few. My schedule is arranged around my dogs and puppies. I'm very dedicated to spending lots of time caring for my puppies (and adult dogs) and getting them ready for their forever homes!
